Time for All Hallows Eve, a spooky movie and tons of candy!!! This 2001 flick is about an old legend from France of the wicked wolf-like Beast of Gévaudan that that murdered only women and children in the mid 1700s. It also entails the story of two men sent to destroy this insidious creature with their slow-motion kung-fu. This is definitely one of my favorites due to dreamy visuals and on the edge of your seat thrills. Plus it stars Vincent Cassel and Monica Bellucci, so how can you go wrong. So run to your local VHS rental store and pick it up tonight!

James Jarvis

I’ve been enjoying the illustrative works of London born Mr. Jarvis for many a year now. Works such as the collaborative projects he’s done with Silas, his vinyl creations, most recently the animated collaboration with Nike featuring the music of Caribou and all his amazing sketches that mystify the imagination. I was first turned on to his work by an old co-worker of mine (Molly if I remember correctly, sorry it’s been too long) that use to collect his “In Crowd” figures. Then I remember seeing his work turn up at Union on Silas tees. The rest as they say, is history.

Illustrating and traditional animation has certainly taken a back seat in pop culture since Pixar came on the scene. I hope to God our children in the generations to come will not miss out on these wonderful art styles , such as our generation has missed out on the lost art of hand lettered signs. Artists such as Mr. Jarvis are vital to keeping the dream alive. So show some support!

The Workbench

Finally got the work bench finished. Complete with my brand new Roland GX-24 cutter. It took about 3-4 days to plan out and fabricate, but I couldn’t be any more happy with it. Big thanks to my Dad for helping me put the bench together and Fernando at Roland for making the cutter happen.
